Photo of Mimi Mimi S. Daitz, Music Director
Mimi Daitz has been Music Director of the RCS since September 1997. She was a faculty member of the Music Department at the City College, CUNY for many years. At the college she conducted both its Chorus and Vocal Ensemble, leading them in standard works and rarities of the choral repertoire. Professor Daitz has also been active as a musicologist. Her areas of research and publication have been turn-of-the-century French vocal music and, more recently, Estonian choral music. She is currently writing a biography of Veljo Tormis, an Estonian composer whose choral works helped inspire Estonia's independence movement.
