John Lettieri, Music Director
John Lettieri has been Music Director for the Riverdale Choral Society since 2008. John also is presently the music director and organist for the Bedford Presbyterian Church in Bedford, NY. John has been working with choruses for over twenty years as a choral director as well as accompanist. He served as the Riverdale Choral Society’s accompanist for eighteen years and has worked with many of the NY area’s choral conductors. He performs extensively throughout the NYC area as an organist, pianist, and harpsichordist. He has given numerous recitals on the Appleton organ at the Metropolitan Museum, performed in Havana, Cuba and in Germany as well as the major concert venues in New York City including Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully and WQXR radio. He has studied at the North German Organ Academy with Harold Vogel and holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees in piano from the Manhattan School of Music. John is also an Associate of the American Guild of Organists. “I am interested in exposing the choral society to programs that expand the group’s repertoire with choral works that cross the line between classical and popular music. I see the chorus as a venue for people to experience new music as well as a chance to sing some of the great masterworks of the choral literature. I want singers to experience all this for themselves weekly while at the same time making this music come alive in concert for the Riverdale community.”
